Following the outstanding success of the
Edinburgh 2007 BMSS Exhibition & Conference we are pleased to announce that
we have been awarded the Organisation and Management for the York 2008
event.
To accompany the exhibition we are not only
adding this dedicated website to accompany the event but we are also
offering a new industry website news service dedicated to the British Mass
Spectrometry Industry which aims to provide ongoing industry news filling
the gap between the annual BMSS Exhibition and Conference.

Small
Business Area
We have introduced a
new area for smaller companies to benefit from the community spirit.
Each company will be
provided a table and two chairs and a 1.00 m. section of velcro receptive
display wall, power and light. A central reception counter is provided for
the area.
The package price for
this area is GBP £550.00 per company.
Exhibitors Sales Poster
sites are £120.00 per site (0.50m width) in the Exhibition Hall only.
IMSC 2009 BREMEN
Yes its official, the only reason we hold
the BMSS Exhibition for two out of every three years is because every third
year the International Mass Spec Conference (IMSC) takes place somewhere in
the world.
The 18th IMSC is set for 30th August - 4th
September 2009 and will be held in Bremen, Germany. It's early days yet but
anyone wishing to Exhibit there should talk with Prof. John Monaghan for
initial details. You can Email
imsc2009@phc.uni-liel.de or visit the website at
www.imsc-bremen-2009.de. The
next BMSS meeting will be held in Cardiff in 2010.
Small is Beautiful
(Scientifically Speaking)
The
BMSS 2008 York Exhibition has so far attracted Forty Two Exhibiting
Companies. We still have room for at least ten more. It’s never too late to
Book a Place. This year we are trying to encourage new and small businesses
to participate in one combined area and hope the idea catches on for
companies to dip their toes into the warm waters of this most sociable of
events.
Paraytec
Ltd., are the first to venture into the area we have named, ‘Small
Companies, Big Ideas’. They are based just a stones throw away in
St.George's Place, York.
Talking
of sociable, the generosity of the exhibiting companies is again shining
through to help guarantee the success of the Conference by sponsoring the
Social Events.
Jaytee
Biosciences are once again linking up with the BMSS to sponsor the
traditional ice breaking Exhibitors Wine Reception held on the Monday
Evening. Bruker, Agilent, Mass Spec UK and others are all queuing up to see
what events there are for them to sponsor.
As soon
as we have the full Scientific Programme we will be announcing those
opportunities.
Anna’s Hanging In
There
Those of you who have Exhibited with us before will be reassured to know
that Anna Upton has decided to ‘Hang In There’ for one more year (At least)!
So any enquiries you have about Delegate Bookings, Accommodation,
Sponsorships and Payments will be dealt with in the usual friendly,
efficient way you have come to expect.
I for one am delighted at the news but, if you should find Anna sunning
herself out back by the lake, humour her please, its just her way of ‘being
at leisure’, and mind you don’t trip over the fishing rod.
